"Michael Bay's 'Taste of Cherry' "

FYC: "Michael Bay's 'Taste of Cherry' " - Remake of the Iranian art-house festival darling from 1997, in which Will Smith plays a distraught TV network executive planning to commit suicide on Thanksgiving after the death of his brother from a drugs overdose. Needing someone to bury his corpse beneath Philadelphia's Liberty Bell, he tries to hire a succesion of characters to aid him, including a Kung-fu master, a lap-dancer, a nun and a mysterious child who turns out to be an alien from another world, each of whom teaches him something important about the spirit of Thanksgiving. Culminates in Hollywood's most expensive gun battle to date where Will Smith and 'The Suicide Posse' take out the drug dealing mobsters.
